Giving back to the community is an important part of life for Stacey Cerniuk, President of Annex. Annex supports a number of local charities. In addition, here are examples of Stacey’s personal volunteer work:

2008

University of British Columbia (UBC) Sauder School of Business

Stacey was on the Advisory Board of UBC’s Certificate in Project Management program and UBC’s Certificate in Business Analysis program.

Canadian Information Processing Society (CIPS)

Member of the Advisory Board for CIPS Vancouver section.

Women in ICT National Forum

Stacey participated as a panelist at the Women in ICT National Forum hosted by the Information and Communications Technology Council (ICTC). The forum aims to create actions on the recruitment and retention of women in the ICT sector and to discover ways of encouraging more women to pursue educational training toward ICT. Business Advisor

Stacey acted as a Business Advisor to a number of small businesses.

Career Counselor

Stacey provided career counseling to a number of IT students at the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University.

Guildford Athletic Club

Stacey was the coach of a cup-winning, select U11 division boys soccer team.

Whalley Little League

Stacey was the coach of a little league baseball team for 9 and 10-year olds at one of the top baseball programs in Canada. Stacey coached the team to a league championship. He was selected to coach a 10-year old all-star team that went on to win the district championships.

BC Children’s Hospital

All Annex staff participated in Jeans Day for BC Children’s Hospital.

2007

Member of the Advisory Board for CIPS Vancouver section.

University of British Columbia (UBC) Sauder School of Business

Stacey has been an Advisor to UBC’s Certificate in Project Management program since the inception of the program in 2002. He gave inspirational talks on project management as a career at UBC approximately five times per year. The UBC program won the CAUCE Canadian award of excellence for adult education.

Stacey was also a member of the Advisory Board of UBC’s Certificate in Business Analysis program.

International Institute of Business Analysis (IIBA)

Co-presented with Denise Holleran-Boswell as the keynote speakers at IIBA Vancouver’s September 2007 dinner meeting.

Co-presented both 1-hour and 1-day workshops on System Selection Best Practices with Denise Holleran-Boswell.

The IIBA is an international not-for-profit association for Business Analysis professionals. Stacey was a panel member for an IIBA event on the future of business analysis.

Stacey also acted as an advisor to the Board of Directors of the new Vancouver chapter of IIBA to assist in establishing the new organization.

Completed five inspirational talks throughout the year on project management as a profession.

Society of PM Professionals of Greater Vancouver

Stacey presented a workshop on Project Management Offices (PMOs) at a Society seminar and provided an overview of the demand for project management across multiple industries and geographies.

Stacey was a panel member at the ProjectWorld*BusinessAnalystWorld conference in Vancouver. The topic was career paths for Project Managers and Business Analysts.

project charter, project plan, change request, decision request, issues log, weekly status report, monthly status report, project audit, acceptance document, meeting agenda, meeting minutes, risk assessment, cost tracking and project organization chart.
